Research on The Good Life

Research on adult development provides valuable insights into what actually does (and doesnโ€™t) make people happy as they go through life. One of the most powerful insights from the Harvard Study and many other studies is that strong relationships can provide the foundation for a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.

7-Day Happiness Challenge

The 7-day happiness challenge encourages participants to take small steps each day to cultivate more joy and contentment in their lives. By focusing on simple activities such as gratitude, kindness, and self-care, the challenge can help people to create meaningful, lasting changes in their overall happiness.

Action for Happiness

Prioritizing happiness and kindness influences how we approach everything - including our personal lives, families, communities, schools and workplaces. Action for Happiness is a movement of people committed to building a happier and more caring society.

The Human Flourishing Program

The Human Flourishing Program at Harvard's Institute for Quantitative Social Science is dedicated to understanding the science of well-being and applying it to improve the lives of individuals, communities, and organizations. Through this program, we seek to develop a deeper understanding of the conditions that lead to a life of purpose, meaning and joy, and to use this knowledge to create a better world.
